we are all at sixes and sevens still

We have had our family living here in our wee house for 20 weeks where the intention was maybe about 8 weeks. They moved out the Sunday before Christmas and we are both glad and sad.

It has been wonderful watching our wee granddaughter move from nearly crawling but backwards to a fully fledged biped – walking and running and laughing. It has been challenging for us all and especially L & M, they have had all the upheavals of full time work, managing a house removal and a house relocation plus various illnesses during those weeks. But I wouldn’t have had it any other way and aren’t we the lucky ones – they are only next door.

But the house is quiet, so so quiet.

We are still finding stuff that is theirs and finding our own stuff and we are slowly putting the place back into order right on top of Christmas and New Year. I didn’t even find my Christmas decorations bar one – the welcome wreath for our front door.

I am now sorting boxes and reorganising my yarn space and in doing so I found a folder that I had quite forgotten about. The Alpaca Expo 2009 Fashion Show, Garment Catalogue and on the front is my dress created using yarn from Andy of Flagstaff Alpacas. The varigated yarns from Flagstaff Alpaca were designed and dyed by Doe Arnot

Thank you to Miriam Dixon of Karisma animal companions who communicated with me across the world and then sent this catalogue and my dress to my daughters home in NZ, whilst we were still in the Netherlands.

Now we are back from the Netherlands and retired living in a piece of paradise in Miranda, the Waikato; and I may yet get to meet the people who made it possible for me to source such lovely yarns and then included my piece in the Alpaca Expo catalogue.

I have joined the Creative Fibre group in Thames and plan to make 2014 my own after being back for just over 2 years and I am itching (not a good word for a yarnie) to be creating with fibre as well as continuing the development of our lovely garden and just maybe I’ll take the opportunity to create in alpaca again.
