It’s the job that is never started

by on Nov.12, 2016, under Blog

It’s the job that is never started that takes the longest to finish.

Thank you J.R.R. Tolkien.

I never stop knitting and playing with colour and yarn in my mind, but over recent months I have not really managed to actually knit, well not very much.

But the process is happening again – I have decided that I must set up a room properly and call it my studio (2nd bedroom).

Step 2 is to finish my unfinished WIP.

But that will depend on just what else could be started in the meantime especially when I will be reminded of my yarn as I move it from my smallest bedroom into my studio.

And just to let you know that I am finishing a lovely black kid mohair with variegated 4ply yarn in pinks to purple and black. It is only the final cast off and a few ends to weave in. It is also a version of my Connie Cowl design, but with an added frilly bottom edge.

And I am doing this while listening to Leonard Cohen.

I am so grateful that I saw him in New Zealand in 2013 and delighted to have his music to knit and remember him by.

Thank you all you lovely knitters who bought the Connie Cowl pattern

by on Oct.22, 2014, under Blog

BUT You didn’t tell me that the pattern was corrupted and unusable.

I love this cowl and have knitted it many times now – but I don’t use the actual physical pattern and so I did not realise that there was a problem with the original written pattern that I had provided. The Connie Colourscape Cowl pattern was corrupted and only a third of it was actually contained in the pattern I provided to you lovely knitters.

So if I have not contacted you directly already regarding this pattern please let me know – through Etsy, Craftsy or Ravelry.

Examples using this basic pattern which I have played with a bit.

Unique Boutique Knits etsy shop patterns are NZD 4-00 or less till end of March

by on Mar.05, 2012, under Blog

Unique Boutique Knits is now reopened.

I am adding patterns as I am able using the internet at Ngatea Library. Thank goodness there is public WIFI there so that I can as Vodafone and others are unable to provide a service at our little piece of paradise.

I will keep the prices at $4.00 NZD till the end of March 2012 – as a celebration that I am online again on Mondays and Fridays – even if it is rather difficult and that there is an end in sight as we are looking at a satellite connection BUT everything takes time.

So far these patterns are on Etsy:

Feather and Fan Fingerless Gloves in 3 lengths

Connie Cowl in Rowan Colourscape

Best beloved’s Neck Warmer

Multicolour Capelet

Chic classic Beret

3 Berets – plain, striped and simple Intarsia – all knitted in the round
